The velocity field of NGC 1365. I - The measurements and data reduction techniques
The velocity field of the large barred spiral NGC 1365 has been mappedin considerable detail from optical emission lines and, in the case ofthe bar, also from stellar absorption lines. A part of the material hasbeen obtained using a digital detector (IPCS) allowing estimates ofvelocity dispersions and line intensities to be made. In this paper theauthors present the data and discuss the data reduction techniquesemployed.
