Calibration for Large Telescopes: Status and Prospects We discuss the status of the calibration programme for CanariCam andrelated initiatives that aim to provide quality calibration facilitiesfor users of the GTC and other telescopes. We have Visible and IRphotometry of >300 stars apt for the calibration of CanariCam givingan initial density of ~ 1 star per 100 square degrees of sky. Theuncertainties in the visible data are typically ≥ 0.01mags andsomewhat better in the near-IR. A revised catalogue of photometry offield stars of 26 AGNs has been produced with 43 000 observations of 437stars, adding some 5000 additional visible measures. We havecollaborated actively in the calibration of IRAC on SIRTF, providing thelargest submission of input data received by the IRAC calibration team. Our data quality is excellent, exceeding that of any other submission bya significant factor.
| Northern JHK Standard Stars for Array Detectors We report J, H, and K photometry of 86 stars in 40 fields in theNorthern Hemisphere. The fields are smaller than or comparable to a 4' x4' field of view and are roughly uniformly distributed over the sky, making them suitable for a homogeneous broadband calibration network fornear-infrared panoramic detectors. K magnitudes range from 8.5 to 14 andJ-K colors, from -0.2 to 1.2. The photometry is derived from a total of3899 reduced images; each star has been measured, on average, 26.0 timesper filter on 5.5 nights. Typical errors on the photometry are ~0.012mag.
